I bought a Zodiac G3 in June 2017 and it worked fine until August 2022. Kept the pool clean, apart from one patch near the shallow end where the water jet deflected it, but a few seconds with a brush fixed that. Only real problem was that the pool has several ninety degree corners and the Zodiac would get caught in one particular corner about once a week. It got worse over the last three or four months. When I finally replaced old faithful I found that the rough finish of the pool had worn through the tubing and the suction had dropped, resulting in it getting stuck more often. The new one works fine and doesn’t get stuck but I’ll watch the tubing. Wouldn’t have a pool without one.I didn’t love this cleaner at first. It was always getting stuck at corners, and miss cleaning a lot of the pool due to staying in the same general track, hugging the edges a lot. I had the suction in the range suggested. However, I got a new pool filter and hadn’t changed the valves to lower the suction at the strainer where I put the hose. It turned out that if I have the suction just a little above the top of the range, just above the 3 on the tester, it now climbs the walls instead of getting stuck! It moves faster too. It still has a tendency to follow a typical track but I use a bungy cord to attach the last 10-15 ft of hose to the end of my pool brush and use paver stones to hold the brush in place. So I anchor the cleaner at mid hose to different parts of the pool and just move it every now and then. This way I get the whole pool cleaned with very little effort. I now love it. I wish the instructions would show troubleshooting. I would have used this a lot more if I just knew I had to increase the suction pressure for it to work a lot better.Easy to install. Had to use 2 included elbows to properly fit. It removed almost all the algae from the bottom and sides of the in ground pool. This only leaves the stairs to manually brush. A tremendous time-saver for maintenance. This thing does a great job of cleaning our pool.. mostly. There is a 4' x 6' area or so of our pool that it just won't cover because it falls into a pattern of going around that spot. Not a huge deal, I just brush that area once in a while and the vacuum gets that stuff from other areas. It does fall and get stuck upside down fairly regularly. I've been trying over a couple months to add weights and floats to the hose to prevent that, but it still happens. At least it is very easy to flip it back over by pulling on the hose a little. The biggest problem I've had is that I removed the hose from the water so we could swim on a hot (105 degree) day and set them on the pool deck. They were in a coil, and I guess the heat reformed them to that coiled position. Ever since that I can't get the hose to behave in the pool anymore, and I might end up needing a new hose. So if you live in a very hot climate (I'm in Vegas), be careful about leaving the hoses out in the sun.Overall I recommend the unit because it is very affordable compared to most the others I've seen. However, I do wonder whether getting something else might have given me a little better coverage and less getting stuck upside down.It does a good job if it doesn’t come undone from the pool.I've always had a pool guy but as with all pool guys, they have routes they follow. My guy services my pool on Tuesdays, so usually the pool needs cleaning for the weekend. So I bought this vacuum, which was affordable compared to others. I have a dedicated suction line so didn't need to set it up through the skimmer. I works very well, covers all areas of the pool and easily climbs walls. I live in S Fla so sometimes I get a little yellow algae collecting on the walls. This thing takes care of that and more. Great little device, especially if you don't want to break the bank. As far as I can tell, the main part that needs replacing is the diaphragm. If you buy the knock offs, they are pretty cheap (about 10-15 bucks for a two pack). Overall, very pleased. It's very powerful and my family loves watching it zig zag all over the poolOverall, I really like this product. We used to pay someone to come clean our pool weekly and this turned out to be cheaper for us. It works great. We can set it up and forget about it for the most part. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because you have to guide it onto the steps to clean them (even though it’s not too much of a big deal for us). I would definitely recommend this for anyone who doesn’t have too much time to focus 100% on vacuuming their pools, and for anyone look for something more affordable than paying someone weekly or bi weekly to do it.Side note: You do have to clean your filter after a few uses but that’s expectedOur pool home is only occupied part of the year. While we are away, this little buddy keeps my pool nice and clean. It is under a screen, so leaves are never a problem. However, this vacuum is tried and true and it never gets stuck in our pool.
